Yeah, I did some models a bit. And you're right, the cool part really is the construction of it. Hey, do you sign the stuff you've made? It'll increase it's value in time
I don't sign anything because nobody wants it. Its genuinely not as good as the pros, because, well, they have more training and better tools. My models are a strictly low-budget affair, so they look "ok".
